Sam Newfield's 1938 Western, "Durango Valley Raiders," offers a classic tale of mistaken identity and vigilantism. Starring the dependable Bob Steele as Keene Cordner, the film plunges into a familiar narrative trope: a wronged cowboy forced to adopt the persona of an outlaw to clear his name and bring the real culprits to justice. Steele effectively embodies Cordner's transformation from an honest ranch hand, unjustly accused, into the titular "Shadow" who seeks to dismantle the criminal enterprise plaguing the Durango Valley.
