DUANE RUNS FOR MAYOR

Cinemavixion Review

In 'Duane Runs for Mayor,' we are introduced to Duane Balfour, a character painted as a modern-day Don Quixote navigating a family steeped in 'spectacular failure.' What begins as a seemingly minor schoolyard rivalry escalates dramatically when Duane embarks on an ambitious, perhaps quixotic, campaign for mayor of the small town of Ridgeway. This indie comedy-drama promises a blend of adolescent idealism and the absurdities of local politics, exploring themes of ambition, family legacy, and the often-unpredictable consequences of even the smallest actions. The film appears to be a character-driven piece, focusing on Duane's journey as he attempts to make his mark on a community perhaps not ready for his particular brand of earnestness.
