DRIVERX

Cinemavixion Review

Henry Barrial's 2017 drama "DriverX" offers a poignant and often humorous exploration of middle-aged anxieties and the precariousness of the gig economy. Anchored by a compelling performance from Patrick Fabian, renowned for his role in "Better Call Saul," the film centers on Leonard, a stay-at-home father thrust into the role of a ride-sharing driver to alleviate financial strain on his family. Through the kaleidoscope of late-night Los Angeles and its diverse clientele, "DriverX" delves into themes of insecurity, marital strain, and the search for purpose in a rapidly changing world. While it garnered a Metascore of 44 and an IMDb rating of 5.8, suggesting a mixed critical reception, the film's realistic portrayal of everyday struggles and the unexpected human connections it depicts make it a noteworthy entry for those interested in character-driven dramas.
