DRAGON WASPS

Cinemavixion Review

In "Dragon Wasps," director Joe Knee plunges audiences into the humid depths of the Belizean jungle, a setting ripe for both human conflict and monstrous revelations. The film follows a determined scientist, played with earnest resolve, as she ventures into the wilderness to uncover the truth behind her father's disappearance. What begins as a rescue mission rapidly escalates into a desperate fight for survival when she and her accompanying US Army contingent find themselves caught between a ruthless guerrilla faction and an even more terrifying threat: genetically mutated wasps of immense size. The narrative skillfully blends elements of military action with creature-feature horror, creating a tense, B-movie thrill ride. While perhaps leaning into its pulpy premise, "Dragon Wasps" delivers on its promise of suspense and creature-feature mayhem, offering an engaging, if occasionally campy, jungle adventure.
