DOWN THE WYOMING TRAIL

Cinemavixion Review

Albert Herman's "Down the Wyoming Trail" (1939) offers a classic Western narrative anchored by the charismatic Tex Ritter. The film, set against a backdrop that blends frontier justice with holiday cheer, sees Ritter's character entangled in a murder mystery. He takes on the guise of Santa Claus, only to find himself framed for a crime committed by an actual outlaw. The plot unfolds as Ritter escapes and joins a gang, navigating a treacherous path to uncover the truth and clear his name. While the film may not boast the epic scope of later Westerns, it provides an engaging story with Ritter's signature blend of heroism and musicality, supported by his trusty horse White Flash and the comedic presence of Horace Murphy. It's a charming piece of B-movie Western history, worth a watch for fans of the genre and its stars.
