DOUBLE TROUBLE

Cinemavixion Review

Enzo Barboni's "Double Trouble" (1984) is a rollicking action-comedy that masterfully blends mistaken identity with a high-stakes international thriller. The film introduces us to two wealthy Brazilian cousins who, fearing for their lives, hire a stuntman and a jazz musician to impersonate them in Rio de Janeiro. What begins as a simple ruse to unmask their enemies quickly spirals into a thrilling adventure as the doubles, portrayed with charismatic energy, find themselves not only dodging danger but also reveling in the luxurious lifestyle they've unexpectedly inherited. The plot, as detailed in the YouTube description, effectively captures the essence of the impostors' journey. While the cousins remain in the shadows, the stuntman and musician delve into the mystery, their investigation becoming a dangerous game of cat and mouse. The narrative cleverly explores the perils of living a fabricated life, as the excitement of masquerade gives way to tangible threats. The film's vibrant setting in Rio serves as a perfect backdrop for the escalating tension and glamorous escapades. With a solid 7.1 rating on IMDb, "Double Trouble" is a testament to its engaging storytelling and entertaining performances, making it a noteworthy watch for fans of the genre.
