DIXIE MAFIA

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the shadowy world of the Dixie Mafia, weaving a narrative tapestry rich with Southern lore and outlaw history. The series masterfully connects the dots between Prohibition-era bootlegging, the birth of stock car racing, and the rise of organized crime in the South. Episode three, in particular, offers a compelling look at the notorious Buford Pusser, a figure synonymous with the fight against the Dixie Mafia, as his daughter shares intimate details of his life and untimely demise. The historical context provided, exploring the 'Moonshine and Bourbon Capital of the World' and the evolution of Southern racing culture, offers a unique and insightful perspective on a significant, yet often misunderstood, chapter of American history. It's a journey into the heart of Southern grit and defiance.
