DIXIANA

Cinemavixion Review

1930's "Dixiana" transports viewers to the vibrant, tumultuous antebellum New Orleans, setting the stage for a dramatic Mardi Gras celebration. The narrative centers on two men locked in a passionate rivalry for the heart of a captivating young woman, all against the backdrop of this iconic festival. Directed by Luther Reed and featuring a cast including Bebe Daniels, Bert Wheeler, and Everett Marshall, the film offers a glimpse into the romantic entanglements and social dynamics of the era. While the film garnered a modest reception, its historical setting and central love triangle provide a compelling, albeit melodramatic, cinematic experience that captures the spirit of its time.
