DIVINATION | DARK SOUL

Cinemavixion Review

“Divination” plunges viewers into a harrowing battle between the mundane and the supernatural, anchored by a compelling performance from D’angelo Midili as Jason. The film masterfully explores the fragility of the human psyche as Jason, a successful artist, grapples with the encroaching darkness of his own mind, personified chillingly by Tucker Boggio as Fear. Midili’s portrayal of descent into madness is palpable, amplified by the unsettling presence of Lisa Coronado’s mysterious Dee and the unsettling whispers that plague his waking moments. The introduction of Philipp Aurand as the powerful angel Joshua and James Grixoni as his assistant Daniel injects a potent spiritual warfare element, transforming the narrative into a unique thriller that questions the very nature of reality and perception. Natasha Sims offers a grounding presence as the devoted wife Jessica, whose joy at their impending parenthood starkly contrasts with Jason’s internal turmoil. “Divination” is a stark reminder to be discerning, as the film suggests not every spirit should be trusted, offering a thought-provoking and unsettling cinematic experience.
