In "Die Schlangengrube und das Pendel" (1967), the chilling legend of Count Regula, executed in 1801 for the murders of twelve maidens, continues to haunt the desolate Sandertal. Decades later, advocate Roger Mont-Elise and the alluring Baroness Lilian receive a cryptic invitation to this foreboding locale. Their journey leads them through eerie forests to the crumbling ruins of Regula's castle, where a sinister secret awaits. Unbeknownst to them, they are on the precipice of a ghastly ritual: the Count's resurrection, which requires the blood of a thirteenth virgin for his infernal plans. This horror adventure blurs the lines between life and death, plunging its protagonists into a terrifying ordeal.
