DIE JUNGFRAU UND DIE PEITSCHE

Cinemavixion Review

Jesús Franco's 1970 film, 'Die Jungfrau und die Peitsche,' plunges viewers into a disquieting exploration of innocence lost and desires unleashed. Set on a secluded island, the narrative follows an unsuspecting young woman who finds herself ensnared in a weekend of increasingly surreal and erotic experimentation orchestrated by her hosts. Starring Maria Rohm, Marie Liljedahl, and Jack Taylor, the film delves into taboo themes with Franco's signature provocative style. While the plot summary is brief, it hints at a journey into psychological and sexual boundaries, characteristic of the director's controversial yet captivating oeuvre. This is a film that challenges conventional norms, promising a potent, albeit unsettling, cinematic experience for those drawn to daring explorations of the human psyche.
