DIE BY THE SWORD

Cinemavixion Review

Christopher Forbes's "Die by the Sword" plunges viewers into the tumultuous transition of Roman Britain, a period of profound upheaval and shifting power dynamics. The film vividly portrays the four centuries of Roman rule, highlighting the Pax Romana and the monumental effort of Hadrian's Wall against the enigmatic Pictish tribes. The narrative expertly captures the vulnerability of the island nation following the Roman withdrawal in the 5th century, leaving its people to confront their destiny under King Vortigern. With a compelling cast including Mike Amason, Alyssa Amelia, and Jezibell Anat, the film offers a grounded perspective on historical adaptation and the enduring struggle for self-determination.
