Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the tumultuous reign of King Charles I, exploring the deep-seated conflicts that led to the English Civil War. It posits Charles as a monarch 'possessed' by his pride and fervent religious convictions, suggesting these traits were instrumental in igniting the devastating conflict. The narrative critically examines the pivotal question of his fate: did his actions and beliefs ultimately seal his destiny on the scaffold? The film invites viewers to contemplate the complex historical forces and personal characteristics that culminated in the regicide, offering a thought-provoking perspective on one of Britain's most controversial monarchs and the enduring question of whether his execution was justified by the circumstances of his rule.
