DESPERATE MEASURES | BASTARD CROSSING

Cinemavixion Review

"Bastard Crossing" presents a compelling narrative centered on Cam Talcutt, a man thrust into unexpected ownership of a trading post after a high-stakes card game. The film masterfully portrays his initial excitement giving way to pragmatic concern as supply lines are abruptly severed. This setup challenges Talcutt's resourcefulness and determination, forcing him to devise extraordinary measures to sustain his livelihood. The story excels in illustrating his relentless problem-solving, adaptation, and resilience. As he confronts numerous obstacles, Talcutt forges unlikely alliances and unearths inner strengths, underscoring the importance of integrity and community support. Evoking the spirit of classic Westerns like "True Grit," the film captivates with its rich storytelling and the authentic performances of its cast, particularly Talcutt himself, who anchors the narrative with his portrayal of grit and unwavering resolve in the face of adversity.
