DESERT SON

Cinemavixion Review

James Mann and Brandon Nicholas's "Desert Son" plunges viewers into a stark narrative of youthful desperation. Set against the unforgiving backdrop of the desert, the film chronicles the harrowing journey of a boy abandoned by his stepfather. Finding solace with two fellow orphans in a desolate mining town, their fragile alliance quickly devolves into a descent into crime as they struggle for survival. The film masterfully explores the corrosive effects of guilt and conscience, particularly after a murder irrevocably alters their path. Despite a modest IMDb rating, the raw performances and unflinching portrayal of moral compromise make "Desert Son" a compelling, albeit bleak, cinematic experience that resonates with its exploration of lost innocence and the heavy burden of sin.
