In the arid expanse of the Republic's early years, 'Desert Beast' unfurls a tale of scientific inquiry gone awry. The film plunges us into the desolate sand seas, where a mysterious infestation threatens more than just the environment; it imperils the very fabric of a remote community. The narrative follows Liu Mengxi and Xia Xuan, survivors of a brutal biological laboratory attack, as they desperately try to salvage their research. Their journey is fraught with peril, leading them to the beleaguered Shaqiu Town, where an unlikely alliance forms with the archer Liu Ying. As the remnants of the town, primarily the elderly and infirm, face an encroaching, unseen terror, the film masterfully builds suspense, questioning the cost of survival and the resilience of life against overwhelming odds.
