DEPRESSION: THE MOVIE

Cinemavixion Review

This independent comedy, 'Depression: The Movie,' offers a surprisingly poignant, albeit humorous, look at the struggles of its characters. Directed by Henrique Couto, the film navigates the messy realities of love, inertia, and self-doubt through a quartet of relatable individuals. Lenny's romantic entanglements, Bruce's battle against his father's apathy, Bill's post-divorce confusion, and George's quest for competence form the narrative backbone. Despite the heavy subject matter implied by the title, the film leans into dark humor, presenting a unique blend of comedy and drama that, according to its IMDb rating, resonates with audiences seeking unconventional storytelling. It's a character-driven piece that finds the absurdity in everyday despair.
