Erin Dignam's 'Denial' plunges into the tumultuous depths of a love affair that becomes a self-destructive force. Robin Wright and Jason Patric deliver raw performances as Michael and Sara, a couple whose passion is matched only by their pain. The narrative skillfully navigates the wreckage of their relationship, with Michael's haunting declaration of Sara as his 'sickness' encapsulating the destructive cycle they inhabit. Sara's struggle to forge a new path, free from the shadows of this consuming romance, forms the emotional core of the film. Dignam, who also penned the screenplay, crafts a poignant exploration of codependency and the arduous journey toward self-preservation, set against the backdrop of a relationship too potent to easily abandon.
