DENAZIFICATION: DEPROGRAMMING THE HITLER YOUTH AFTER WW2

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into a profoundly unsettling, yet crucial, chapter of post-World War II history: the denazification of Hitler Youth members. The film confronts the daunting task faced by American forces at the Attichy POW camp in France, where young, fanatically indoctrinated boys were held. It sheds light on the controversial "baby cages" and the experimental methods employed in an attempt to deprogram and rehabilitate these individuals. The narrative bravely explores the psychological complexities and lasting scars resulting from both Nazi propaganda and the subsequent re-education efforts. It serves as a vital, albeit somber, reminder of a forgotten struggle to mend the deep wounds inflicted by an abhorrent ideology, offering a unique perspective on the challenges of confronting and undoing profound indoctrination.
