DEFENDING THE DARK: PRESERVING THE NIGHT SKY

Cinemavixion Review

In "Defending The Dark: Preserving The Night Sky," we are invited on a contemplative journey through the diminishing nocturnal landscapes of Maine. This documentary compellingly argues that the protection of dark sky areas is not merely an aesthetic pursuit but a vital necessity for human health, public safety, ecological balance, and scientific advancement. The film thoughtfully explores practical ways individuals can contribute to restoring the night sky, even within their own backyards. It serves as a poignant reminder of what we stand to lose if we allow artificial light to completely erase the celestial tapestry above, urging a collective effort to safeguard this precious natural resource for future generations.
