DEEP WHITE: THE CONTROVERSY BEHIND BAITING GREAT WHITE SHARKS

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the ethically charged waters of great white shark baiting, a practice that has long captivated divers and filmmakers seeking awe-inspiring encounters. The film critically examines the controversial technique of 'chumming,' where bait is used to lure these magnificent predators into camera range. It highlights the escalating concern surrounding this method, particularly in light of a recent increase in shark attacks, which has led to widespread bans. The narrative skillfully navigates the complex debate, questioning the true cost of our fascination with these apex predators and its repercussions on marine ecosystems. It serves as a compelling exploration of the tension between human curiosity and the conservation of one of the ocean's most vital inhabitants.
