DEATH ON HIGH MOUNTAIN

Cinemavixion Review

Fernando Cerchio's "Death on High Mountain" plunges viewers into a gritty Western landscape where a botched robbery sets off a chain reaction of escalating danger. The film masterfully depicts the perilous intersection of two young men, their ill-gotten gains, and the ruthless pursuit by both Mexican bandits and a sinister, corrupt businessman. The narrative weaves a tense tapestry of betrayal and desperation, amplified by strong performances from Peter Lee Lawrence and Luis Dávila, who embody the escalating stakes with palpable intensity. While perhaps not a household name, this 1969 Western offers a compelling exploration of greed and survival, underscored by its atmospheric direction and a plot that keeps the audience on edge. Its solid 5.3 rating on IMDb suggests a well-crafted, if understated, entry into the genre, deserving of discovery by fans seeking classic Western thrills.
