DEAD MEN DON'T COUNT!

Cinemavixion Review

Rafael Romero Marchent's 'Dead Men Don't Count!' plunges viewers into a classic Western narrative, offering a compelling tale of avarice and conflict. The film masterfully intertwines the arrival of two opportunistic gunmen, intent on claiming an illicit bounty, with a brewing land war fueled by the encroaching railroad. Anthony Steffen and Mark Damon deliver solid performances as the morally ambiguous protagonists, their plans inevitably entangled with the town's volatile social fabric. Marchent skillfully navigates the genre's conventions, creating a gritty atmosphere that reflects the harsh realities of the frontier. While perhaps not as widely celebrated as some of its contemporaries, 'Dead Men Don't Count!' stands as a well-crafted entry in the Spaghetti Western canon, rewarding audiences with its intricate plot and a satisfyingly complex portrayal of the Old West.
