DEAD MAN TELLS HIS OWN TALE

Cinemavixion Review

Fabián Forte's 2016 Argentinian film, "Dead Man Tells His Own Tale," plunges into a darkly comedic and supernatural exploration of gender dynamics and infidelity. The narrative centers on Angel, a man whose life is a tapestry of deceit woven from his numerous affairs, a strained marriage, and a daughter's demands. His penchant for cheating, however, sets in motion a chain of events far beyond his control, as he becomes ensnared by a sisterhood of Celtic goddesses intent on establishing a global matriarchy. The film skillfully blends elements of fantasy, horror, and dark comedy, as seen in its genre classification. The plot, which also features Diego Gentile, Mariana Anghileri, and Emilia Attías, delves into the consequences of Angel's actions, transforming his life into a 'calvary' under the goddesses' manipulative powers. While the film garnered one nomination, its reception on platforms like IMDb indicates a mixed audience response, with a rating of 4.4/10. Despite this, "Dead Man Tells His Own Tale" offers a unique and provocative premise, exploring themes of power, gender, and retribution with a distinctive supernatural twist, making it a compelling watch for those seeking unconventional cinematic experiences.
