DEAD MAN RISING

Cinemavixion Review

Thomas L. Callaway's 'Dead Man Rising' offers a poignant exploration of faith and mortality on death row. Corbin Bernsen, Sean Anthony Moran, and Travis Johns deliver compelling performances as inmates grappling with the existential dread of execution. The film delves into the psychological torment of facing death, particularly when confronted with the rumored horrors of experimental drug trials. As Daniel, an inmate awaiting his fate, seeks knowledge to prepare for his demise, he encounters a neighboring prisoner whose challenges to his worldview ignite a profound spiritual awakening. This narrative pivot transforms a tale of impending doom into a testament to the enduring power of faith and the possibility of redemption, even in the bleakest of circumstances. The film's intimate focus on the internal struggles of its characters, set against the stark reality of their confinement, makes for a thought-provoking cinematic experience.
