José Bolaños' 'Dead Aim' presents a stark, allegorical narrative set against the desolate backdrop of an unspecified war. The film centers on a traveling gravedigger, a solitary figure whose life takes an unexpected turn when he adopts an orphaned child found amidst the harsh desert landscape. As the war concludes and business dwindles, the orphan, now grown, cultivates his own grim enterprise, resorting to violence to generate income. His ambition escalates to a daring bank heist, a plan met with resistance from the gravedigger, who harbors dreams of a more conventional, albeit macabre, future: establishing a sophisticated funeral home and cemetery. The orphan's path diverges further as he becomes fixated on a prostitute, abandoned by her outlaw lover after a botched gold wagon robbery. This obsession ultimately leads him to abandon the gravedigger, embarking on a solitary quest to find her.
