DAZZLE

Cinemavixion Review

David Lister's 'Dazzle' offers a tender exploration of grief, memory, and unexpected connection. The film centers on Tom Nightingale, a fantasy author adrift in sorrow following his wife's death, who finds his quiet world disrupted by the arrival of Crystal, a fairy inexplicably transformed into human form and stripped of her memories. The narrative gracefully weaves elements of fantasy with poignant realism, as Tom and his daughter Melissa navigate the mystery of Crystal's identity and the possibility of her return to her own world. Maxwell Caulfield and Mia Sara deliver performances that capture the vulnerability and nascent hope required by their roles. While the premise leans into magical realism, the film's emotional core resonates deeply, exploring how new relationships can illuminate paths through loss. 'Dazzle' is a gentle, heartwarming tale that suggests magic can be found in the most ordinary of circumstances, even a hospital room.
