Howard Bretherton's 1942 Western, "Dawn on the Great Divide," offers a classic tale of frontier justice and deception. Starring the stalwart Buck Jones as U.S. Marshal Buck Roberts, the film navigates the perilous journey of a wagon train carrying vital railroad supplies. The narrative cleverly subverts expectations as the supposed Indian raids are revealed to be orchestrated by white men, led by the nefarious Jim Corkle (Harry Woods), who seeks to control the settlement of Beaver Lake.Jones is ably supported by Raymond Hatton as Sandy Hopkins and Rex Bell as Jack Carson, fellow marshals tasked with ensuring the delivery. The plot thickens with the introduction of Robert Frazer as Judge John Corkle, visiting his corrupt brother, and Mona Barrie as Sadie Rand, who becomes entangled in the town's illicit dealings.
