DAVID SUSSKIND ARCHIVE: I WAS A HITMAN FOR THE MAFIA

Cinemavixion Review

This archival interview from 1973 features the acclaimed television host David Susskind in conversation with a man identified only as "Joey," who claims to have been a hitman for the Mafia. Susskind appears visibly surprised by Joey's composed and direct account of his past, a demeanor that led one psychiatrist to describe Joey as "the coldest man that he ever met." The description suggests a compelling, albeit unsettling, exploration of a life lived outside societal norms, presented through the lens of a probing interview format.
