Harold Daniels' 1949 Western, "Daughter of the West," offers a compelling narrative centered on Lolita Moreno, a young woman raised in a mission who embarks on a journey to discover her Native American heritage. The film traces her path from the Mission San Juan Capistrano to the Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona, where she takes on the role of a schoolteacher.
