DARK WINTER

Cinemavixion Review

Jason D. Morris's 'Dark Winter' plunges viewers into a chilling premise where a family's desperate bid for freedom clashes with a sinister pact. Set in a town that serves as a prison for supernatural entities, the narrative centers on Vanessa and her daughter's attempt to escape, pursued by Harry, her husband and a reluctant 'Collector.' The impending Winter Solstice, with its cyclical eclipse, traps them in a temporal loop, forcing Harry into a desperate hunt against his own kin. The film masterfully blends elements of horror and science fiction, creating a tense atmosphere punctuated by the ticking clock of fate. Evan Alan, Shoni Alysse Cook, and Doc Divecchio deliver compelling performances, navigating the emotional and physical stakes of their characters' plight. 'Dark Winter' is a thought-provoking exploration of sacrifice and survival, wrapped in a compellingly grim sci-fi thriller.
