DARK BEACON

Cinemavixion Review

Coz Greenop's 'Dark Beacon' plunges into the chilling isolation of a remote lighthouse, a setting ripe for psychological horror. The film masterfully weaves a narrative of obsession and desperation as an abandoned lover seeks out her partner, only to confront a far more sinister threat. The plot thickens with the presence of a child caught between maternal madness and the spectral influence of a deceased father, creating a palpable sense of dread. Lynne Anne Rodgers, Toby Osmond, and April Pearson deliver performances that navigate the delicate balance between vulnerability and terror, anchoring the film's emotional core. While the external data notes a modest IMDb rating, the film's ambition in exploring themes of grief, mental anguish, and the supernatural within its tight runtime is commendable. 'Dark Beacon' offers a claustrophobic and unsettling cinematic experience, proving that potent scares can be found in the most desolate of places.
