Cinemavixion Review

This 1936 musical adventure, 'Dancing Pirate,' offers a whimsical journey from the polished halls of Boston to the untamed seas. Directed by Lloyd Corrigan, the film stars Charles Collins as a dance teacher whose life takes an unexpected turn when he's captured by pirates. The premise itself is a delightful concoction of genres, blending the grace of dance with the swashbuckling spirit of buccaneers. Collins, supported by Frank Morgan and Steffi Duna, navigates the comedic and dramatic currents of this unique narrative. While the film garnered a nomination at the Academy Awards, its charm lies in its inventive story and the visual spectacle of its musical numbers set against a pirate backdrop.
