DADDY ISSUES

Cinemavixion Review

"Daddy Issues" delves into the complexities of modern romance with a queer lens, following Maya, a budding pixie artist, as she navigates a passionate entanglement with the alluring fashionista Jasmine. Director Amara Cash crafts a visually vibrant narrative that captures the intoxicating rush of first love, amplified by the performances of Madison Lawlor and Montana Manning. The film initially presents a fairytale romance, beautifully depicted through their evolving connection. However, the story takes a sharp turn as Maya uncovers Jasmine's entanglement with a sugar daddy, transforming the idyllic relationship into a cautionary tale about love, desire, and financial dependency. The film's exploration of these themes, bolstered by strong performances and a compelling script, earned it critical acclaim, including a notable 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it a thought-provoking watch for audiences interested in contemporary relationship dynamics.
