DADDY

Cinemavixion Review

John Herzfeld's 1987 film "Daddy" offers a poignant and unflinching look at the unexpected burdens of adolescence. Starring Dermot Mulroney, the narrative centers on a teenager thrust into premature fatherhood, grappling with responsibilities far beyond his years. The film sensitively explores the emotional and practical fallout of an unplanned pregnancy, highlighting the stark contrast between youthful dreams and adult realities. Mulroney delivers a compelling performance, capturing the character's confusion, fear, and eventual growth. Supported by a solid cast, including Tess Harper and John Karlen, "Daddy" is a thoughtful drama that resonates with its honest portrayal of a challenging life transition, making it a worthwhile watch for those interested in coming-of-age stories with a mature perspective.
