CURSE OF THE TOTEM

Cinemavixion Review

Inspired by a chilling 13th-century sacrificial ceremony, 'Curse of the Totem' plunges viewers into a harrowing expedition led by Dr. Sani. His quest to find his missing wife, who vanished while studying a mysterious Jerunei (Totem Pole), becomes a descent into psychological terror. As the team ventures deeper into the unforgiving forest, they are plagued by increasingly vivid hallucinations, debilitating pain, and disorienting episodes of waking up in unfamiliar, unsettling locations. Director Jason Chong crafts a suspenseful narrative that blurs the lines between reality and delusion, leaving the audience questioning what is real alongside the increasingly fractured characters, including performances by Bront Palarae, Uqasha Senrose, and Mohd Syafie Naswip.
