CURSE OF CHIKARA RIDGE

Cinemavixion Review

"Curse of Chikara Ridge" plunges viewers into the unforgiving Arkansas mountains, a setting as treacherous as the greed that drives its protagonists. This horror western hybrid masterfully intertwines a classic treasure hunt narrative with the chilling presence of a vengeful native spirit. The film's strength lies in its atmospheric tension, building suspense as two ex-Confederate captains, portrayed with rugged determination, seek to unearth hidden diamonds, thereby awakening the wrath of Chikara. The performances by Joe Don Baker, Sondra Locke, and Ted Neeley anchor the story, grounding the supernatural elements in palpable human ambition and its dire consequences. It's a compelling exploration of how avarice can lead to a deadly confrontation with ancient powers and haunting retribution, offering a unique blend of folklore and suspense for those drawn to the darker corners of the western genre.
