CULT GIRLS | THE ANCIENT BALTIC GODDESS

Cinemavixion Review

Mark Bakaitis's 'Cult Girls | The Ancient Baltic Goddess' plunges viewers into a chillingly unique world, following Dalia as she navigates the traumatic aftermath of escaping a pagan apocalyptic cult. Raised under the dominion of a powerful Baltic goddess of death, Dalia's childhood is shattered by a police raid that separates her from her sisters. Years later, consumed by guilt and a desperate need for answers, she uncovers a potential connection to the cult through a reclusive black metal artist. This discovery ignites a perilous quest, leading Dalia deep into the wilderness in search of her lost siblings. What begins as a search for truth quickly spirals into a harrowing descent into a hellish landscape, both literal and psychological. The film masterfully explores themes of trauma, faith, and the enduring bonds of family, set against a backdrop of esoteric beliefs and the dark allure of the occult. Bakaitis crafts a visually striking and thematically rich narrative that is as disturbing as it is compelling, offering a profound look at the lasting impact of extreme ideologies and the desperate fight for survival and reunion.
