CRUEL JAWS

Cinemavixion Review

Bruno Mattei's "Cruel Jaws" plunges viewers into a familiar yet undeniably entertaining shark-attack scenario. Set against the backdrop of a seemingly idyllic Florida beach, the film masterfully escalates tension as a monstrous tiger shark, disturbingly hinted to be a former naval experiment, terrorizes unsuspecting tourists. The narrative cleverly interweaves the aquatic threat with a mob conspiracy, adding a layer of human villainy that complements the primal fear of the ocean's apex predator. While the production may bear the hallmarks of its era, the direction is surprisingly brisk, and the ensemble cast, led by David Luther, effectively conveys the escalating panic. It's a B-movie gem that delivers on its promise of suspense and gore, offering a satisfyingly pulpy experience for fans of the genre.
