CROSSBAR

Cinemavixion Review

John Trent's "Crossbar" from 1979 offers a poignant and inspiring narrative centered on an Olympic high jumper, brought to life by a compelling performance from Brent Carver. The film bravely tackles the athlete's devastating loss of a leg and his subsequent, tenacious fight to reclaim his athletic dreams. Co-starring Kim Cattrall and John Ireland, this made-for-television drama, released just before Terry Fox's iconic Marathon of Hope, has been noted for its emotional resonance, earning a respectable 6.1 rating on IMDb. "Crossbar" stands as a testament to the indomitable human spirit and the relentless pursuit of passion against overwhelming odds.
