CRIMSON RIVERS 2: ANGELS OF THE APOCALYPSE

Cinemavixion Review

Pierre Niemans returns in "Crimson Rivers 2: Angels of the Apocalypse", a sequel that plunges deeper into the arcane and the horrifying. The film masterfully blends the procedural elements of a crime thriller with the chilling atmosphere of a supernatural mystery, as Chief Niemans, once again embodied by the compelling Jean Reno, investigates a series of ritualistic murders foretelling the end times. He is joined by the charismatic Johnny Hallyday and the formidable Christopher Lee, adding significant gravitas to the ensemble. Director Olivier Dahan navigates the complex narrative with a confident hand, weaving together intricate mythology and visceral action sequences. While the plot delves into darker, more esoteric territory than its predecessor, the film remains a captivating watch, offering a unique blend of Gallic grit and apocalyptic dread that distinguishes it within the genre.
