Cinemavixion Review

This documentary sheds light on the often-overlooked Battle of Crete during World War II. It highlights the island's strategic importance and the fierce initial resistance against Mussolini's Italian forces in 1940. Although ultimately occupied by German troops in 1941, the film emphasizes the remarkable tenacity of the Cretan people. Their unwavering resistance movement proved to be a persistent thorn in the side of the occupying Nazi forces, causing significant and continuous problems. The narrative underscores the bravery and resilience of these 'toughest underdogs,' offering a compelling look at a crucial yet under-represented chapter of the war.
