CRAZY BROKE ASIANS

Cinemavixion Review

Steve Myung's "Crazy Broke Asians" offers a vibrant, albeit chaotic, exploration of family dynamics and cultural expectations. The narrative centers on an unemployed Korean writer navigating the daunting task of impressing his girlfriend's conservative Chinese-American parents. What unfolds is a comedic whirlwind, amplified by the arrival of a colorful cast of relatives, including a rapper brother and a suave doctor, all converging for a Korean barbecue. The film promises a blend of romantic comedy tropes with genuine family drama, underscored by the potential for hilarious misunderstandings and heartfelt moments. While the setup suggests a familiar rom-com structure, the infusion of specific cultural elements and the promise of unpredictable twists offer a unique comedic experience that invites viewers to embrace the delightful pandemonium of family.
