CRASH OF THE MOONS

Cinemavixion Review

While not originally conceived as a standalone feature film, "Crash of the Moons" offers a fascinating glimpse into the serialized science fiction of the 1950s. Comprised of three episodes from the "Rocky Jones, Space Ranger" television series, this compilation presents a narrative expanded for video release. Directed by Hollingsworth Morse, the series stars Richard Crane as the titular space ranger, accompanied by Scotty Beckett and Sally Mansfield. The production reflects the optimistic, yet often rudimentary, special effects and storytelling conventions of its era, providing a nostalgic experience for fans of classic sci-fi and an interesting case study for the re-purposing of television content for different media formats.
