COUPLE TIME

Cinemavixion Review

COUPLE TIME, released in 1991, presents a poignant narrative centered on Alena, a sixteen-year-old navigating the complexities of a trip to Moscow. Tasked with a personal quest to find her mother's childhood home, Alena's journey takes an unexpected turn when a simple mix-up leads her to a theatrical performance instead of the city archives. Lost and disoriented in the bustling metropolis, she encounters Mitya, an eighteen-year-old Muscovite, whose timely intervention offers a glimmer of connection amidst the confusion. The film delicately explores themes of self-discovery, the serendipity of chance encounters, and the poignant search for roots, all set against the backdrop of a rapidly changing historical landscape. It’s a story that hints at the unexpected paths life can take and the meaningful connections that can bloom in the most unforeseen circumstances.
