COUNTRY HOUSE RESCUE - DREAM MANSION PUT ME $85,000 IN DEBT

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary chronicles the ambitious undertaking of Cornelia Bailey, who, captivated by the historic Plas Teg mansion, invested a significant sum and her life savings into its acquisition and restoration. The narrative explores the profound personal sacrifices made, including a move to remote North Wales and prolonged isolation, all in service of preserving this Jacobean architectural gem. As Cornelia endeavors to open the estate to the public, the film introduces Ruth, tasked with assessing the viability of this venture. The central tension lies in whether Ruth can guide Cornelia toward a sustainable future for Plas Teg, or if Cornelia's deeply personal vision for the mansion will prove too unyielding. It's a compelling look at passion, preservation, and the challenges of balancing personal dedication with public access.
