COUNTING BULLETS

Cinemavixion Review

Travis Mills' "Counting Bullets" plunges viewers into the stark reality of survival within a desolate canyon. This 2021 Western, co-written by Mills and John Marrs, masterfully chronicles the ordeal of a small cavalry unit trapped by enemy forces. Over a tense few days, the soldiers are compelled to confront their internal conflicts and forge an unlikely reliance on one another's instincts to endure. While the film may not boast a wide theatrical release, its narrative strength lies in its intimate portrayal of human resilience under extreme pressure. The ensemble cast, including Michael Estridge and John Marrs, delivers performances that underscore the psychological toll of their predicament. Garnering 4 wins and 5 nominations, "Counting Bullets" offers a compelling, character-driven exploration of courage and camaraderie in the face of overwhelming odds, making it a noteworthy addition to the Western genre.
