COPACABANA PALACE

Cinemavixion Review

"Copacabana Palace," directed by Steno and released in 1962, is a charming Italian light comedy that transports viewers to the vibrant landscapes of Brazil. The film features a delightful appearance by musical legends Luiz Bonfá, João Gilberto, and Antonio Carlos Jobim, who portray themselves, adding an authentic musical flair. Starring Sylva Koscina, Walter Chiari, and Mylène Demongeot, the movie offers a gentle narrative, blending humor with the picturesque Brazilian setting. While not a critical blockbuster, its unique premise and the presence of iconic Brazilian musicians make it a noteworthy piece for those interested in international cinema of the early 1960s and musical comedies.
