COP TARGET

Cinemavixion Review

Umberto Lenzi's "Cop Target" plunges viewers into a tense tropical thriller, delivering a gritty narrative that holds its own within the action genre. Robert Ginty stars as Farley Wood, a bodyguard tasked with protecting a DEA agent's widow and child on the exotic island of San Cristobal. As the mission unfolds, suspicions arise about the deceased husband's illicit drug dealings, adding layers of intrigue to the unfolding danger. The plot thickens when the daughter is kidnapped, forcing Wood to navigate a treacherous landscape of international terrorists and potential political motivations, even as official channels urge him to step aside. Ginty anchors the film with a solid performance, supported by Barbara Bingham and Charles Napier, as they navigate the complex plot. While perhaps not reaching the heights of blockbuster acclaim, "Cop Target" offers a compelling, action-packed ride with a satisfyingly complex mystery at its core.
