COP SECRET

Cinemavixion Review

Hailing from Iceland, "Cop Secret" (2021) is a rollicking action-comedy that punches well above its weight. Directed by Hannes Þór Halldórsson, the film introduces us to Iceland's toughest cop, a renegade who must reluctantly team up with a new partner to unravel a series of audacious bank heists. The chemistry between the leads, including Auðunn Blöndal and Egill Einarsson, is palpable, driving both the comedic beats and the escalating action sequences. While the plot might tread familiar ground in the buddy-cop genre, "Cop Secret" distinguishes itself with a unique Icelandic sensibility and a surprising amount of heart. Garnering critical acclaim with an 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, this energetic film is a testament to the vibrant filmmaking scene in Iceland and offers a thoroughly entertaining ride for fans of the genre.
